  रेले का महत्व तबला वादन में रेले का उतना ही महत्व है, जितना अन्य बंदिशों का रेला एक ऐसा आविष्कार है विद्वानों का जो लोगों को बहुत आकर्षक करता है और इस तरह की बंदिशें किसी भी वादक की क्षमता को दर्शाती है। रेली के बोल बहुत कम होते हैं यह दो प्रकार के होते हैं एक रेल आता तथा कायदे से निर्मित खेला रैली को द्रुत गति में ही बजाना चाहिए या ठुमरी और ख्याल गायकी मैं भी उसका उपयोग हो जाता है बिल्कुल लगी और लड़ी की तरह ।रागों में solo वादन में जहां जहां पर आवश्यकता हो वहां इसका उपयोग बहुत ख़ूबसूरती के साथ किया जाता है । कैसे हुआ आविष्कार  कुछ विद्वानों के अनुसार रेल के इंजन का आविष्कार हुआ तब उसकी ध्वनि से प्रभावित होकर विद्वानों ने तबले के बोलों को रेल की ध्वनि जैसा बनाने का प्रयास किया और वह सफल हुए और उसका नाम रेला रखा गया। जो वास्तविक लगता है रे ले में इस तरह के बोलूंगा प्रयोग किया जाता है कि वह बजने पर रेल की गति जैसा या रेल की ध्वनि जैसा प्रतीत हो जब रेल का इंजन दौड़ता है परियों पर तब उसमें जो भिन्न-भिन्न प्रकार की दुनियां निकलती है उसी की आवाज को तब लेकर बोलो...
